Phip Murray

Phip Murray is a Melbourne-based new media artist, writer and producer. Her previous experience includes working as an editor for noise! (the LOUD Festival’s online publication), editing Farrago (the Melbourne University student newspaper) as well as working as an Associate Producer for the Next Wave Festival for which she helped produce the artist-run initiative exhibition Containers Village. Current projects include co-curating a project for the upcoming Next Wave festival as well as joining the board of independent arts review publication un magazine. Phip has completed a Masters degree through RMIT’s Media Arts department, as well as a Bachelor of Arts at Melbourne University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT. Phip currently lectures in contemporary art theory and experimental animation at Swinburne and RMIT universities. Phip is also a new media artist working primarily in digital illustration and animation. She has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions and screenings including: Descore (ACMI), Option Escape (WestSpace Gallery), and the ABC’s online animation showcase Strange Attractors (www.strangeattractors.com.au).
